The Dock - Montauk

Perfect Bound Book, Coaster, and Limited Edition Poster

Scope

Grant Monahan, a Montauk native, wanted to create a photography book that captured the essence of “The Dock” tavern and the unique community that it’s located within. The book had to visually and physically embody this northeast fishing village’s gem…so Grant recruited both Hatteras and designer Javas Lehn to collaborate and produce a book that achieved his vision.

The three groups worked together collaboratively on every detail through production – ensuring that the quality and vision were instilled in every aspect of the final product.

Deliverables

The final product was an 84-page perfect bound book that combined the finest in both traditional and digital print production techniques. The commemoration has an amazing overall quality, combining both raw texture and a sense of superior quality in the stock/beautiful imagery of the interior pages.

The book was accompanied by a customized coaster that was inset on the front/back cover within a debossed area so that it had an authentic book feel.

Grant also created a limited edition poster that indexes all of the imagery used throughout the book.
