Hatteras Increases Variable Imaging Capacity by 400%

Hatteras recently installed two new Hawk M6 UV Variable Inkjet Systems, which represent the newest generation of high-resolution, high-speed addressing and serialization printing technology.

“This is a great new addition that gives us tremendous versatility, along with a high speed, high quality, low cost solution for many different kinds of variable-printed materials,” said Bill Duerr, Hatteras President.

Compared to older technologies, the Hawk M6 can inkjet on a much greater range of paper sizes and substrates, including coated stocks and plastics. Some common end-uses include direct mail addressing, tear-pads with unique offer codes, serialized tickets or labels, and pharmaceutical packaging and co-pay cards.

“We’re always on the lookout for ways to do things better and faster for our clients,” said Duerr. “With speeds in excess of 50,000 pieces per hour, these new inkjet systems have really proven themselves, increasing our capacity by over 400%.”
