Hatteras had the honor of working with NJ-based personal care company, Exquisite Face & Body, on the rebranding of their packaging. This skincare line’s philosophy is nature + science working together – something they wanted represented in their new packaging in an elegant yet natural-looking way.
They were looking for a local print partner who could help them bring their initial concepts to life, and Hatteras was ready to jump in and assist.
Exquisite started by preparing different design concepts for their Soothing Cleansing Gel and Ultra Hydrating Facial Toner boxes. Through several rounds of prototypes, Hatteras was able to help the brand evaluate different stocks and explore special finishing techniques, before landing on a final solution.
The box’s exterior features original watercolor artwork in soft color tones depicting botanical ingredients contained in their actual products. Inside each box, there is a love note that states, “An Exquisite Beauty is a Joy Forever.”
A coated recyclable stock was selected for the new packaging, while increasing the weight from 16 pt to 24 pt to provide extra durability and security for the product inside. To further enhance the branding, a debossing pattern was used to give the boxes an extra natural, textured feel, with a spot soft touch to accentuate various brand and messaging elements.
The boxes were printed on Hatteras’ Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106, which is an 8-color perfecting press and can print up to 18,000 sheets per hour. Once the product was printed and debossed, it was then sent to our Bobst Die-Cutter and Heidelberg Diana Folder-Gluer before sending the finished folding cartons off to the happy customer.
