The goal was to create a playful, high-impact unboxing experience that felt instantly recognizable and share-worthy while still aligning with the brand’s clean, science-backed aesthetic.

Paula’s Choice

The concept brought a familiar digital interaction into the physical world: a PR box designed to resemble an iPhone screen with an active group chat, creating a fun and interactive moment that encouraged engagement and social sharing.
This project tapped into multiple departments and capabilities across Hatteras to bring the concept to life quickly and seamlessly.
- Product Development: Our in-house team partnered closely with the brand from early concepting through material exploration, structural engineering, and prototyping – testing for fit, form and function to ensure a seamless, functional, and impactful unboxing experience.
- Offset Printing: The majority of the box components were produced in our offset print department. A soft-touch AQ coating was applied for a premium, velvety feel, paired with spot gloss UV to highlight key design elements and mimic the shine of a phone screen.
- Specialty Finishing & Embossing: During the die-cutting process, embossing was added to elevate the spot gloss UV areas, creating depth and tactile contrast that enhanced the interactive, screen-like effect.
- Large Format Printing: The sliding “iPhone screen” lids were printed in our large format department, then digitally die cut to ensure precision and smooth functionality.
- Hand Assembly & Fulfillment: Each box was carefully assembled by hand before moving to our assembly line, where products were added, packed, and drop shipped directly to recipients ensuring consistency and quality at scale.
