Valentine's Day Box

PACKAGING

Company
Hatteras, Tinton Falls, New Jersey
Scope
At Hatteras, we have a tradition of distributing chocolates in custom packaging for Valentine’s Day. This year’s chocolate packaging was inspired by a design we found on The Dieline created by DesignPackaging. The Dieline is an incredible resource for anyone in the print and package design industry. They showcase the best new trends in package design and offer a platform for review and discussion.
Deliverables
The final product was a pyramid top box – a 2.5” square base and an additional 2.5” triangular top. The box was digitally printed on the HP Indigo 7600 on 80# black Mohawk Carnival i-Tone Vellum Cover. The understated copy was printed with white ink and a 4-color overprint. The printed flat sheets were digitally die-cut on our Zund S3 Digital Cutting System.

The cut sheets were hand glued and assembled. Once the box was assembled, a bag of festive nonpareils were placed inside. To enclose the box, red ribbon was passed through small slits on top of the pyramid and tied in a bow. To ensure that the nonpareils would be secure, the bottom of the box was designed to lock. The end result was both elegant and sweet.
